Like Parent, Like Child

Most of us love our parents to pieces, but sometimes, don’t you just hate being told how much you act like them? It seems the older we get the more we turn into our parents. I’m not a parent but I’ve been told that new parents find themselves raising their kids just like their parents raised them. It seems very natural for this to happen in families.

I know for sure that I am my mother’s child. I think I am more like my mom than any of my siblings; although, they may think differently.  My mom and I would bump heads all the time when we lived under the same roof. I can remember telling myself when I am older and financially stable, I will move out the first chance I get.

I’ve been on my own for 10 years now and I call my parents just about every day. My mom and dad are truly my rock.  Now that I’m older and little wiser, I wouldn’t wish to be like anybody except my parents. They are the most beautiful generous loving people I know.
