William and Barbara Davis were blessed with two girls and one boy.  After 14 years of marriage, they were expecting child number four.

On one Sunday summer day, at the Orange Memorial Hospital, in Orange, NJ, the Lord blessed them with a little girl. William Sr. was disappointed because he promised William Jr. that he would have a little brother.

When Dr. Padmini Bhaskar told William Sr. about the birth of the girl, he said “Oh No”; The doctor said, Mr. Davis, please don’t feel this way. I have 4 brothers, I am the only girl, and I am the only one that looks after my father. This girl will be a blessing to you and your wife.  After reading the bible, and the story of the twelve year old girl that Jesus raised from death, The Lord impressed upon them to name her Talitha. The full meaning is “Talitha Cumi,” “Damsel, I say unto thee Arise.”

–Girls, always be a blessing to your parents, For the Bible says:

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” (Ex. 20:12)
